Novotel Chennai Sipcot

The housekeeping team kept the room spotless and in good order, refreshing it on time every day. Their care with cleanliness and hygiene really stood out. At Novotel Sipcot Chennai, the food, location, and service also made for a comfortable, enjoyable stay. I’d choose this hotel again and recommend it.

The slow, impersonal check-in was the hardest part of my stay at Novotel Chennai Sipcot. I’d just arrived from Japan and was feeling very unwell after heavy dust triggered my allergy. I told the front desk I was sick and needed to get to my room quickly, but the process dragged on. I paid about ₹5000 extra after cancelling my Agoda booking and rebooking at reception. The date had somehow shifted from 23/02 to 23/03 when I booked through Agoda, and I hadn’t noticed it. Paying more wasn’t really my concern, it was the lack of urgency and understanding when I was clearly unwell. Breakfast became another drawn-out issue. I wanted a room with breakfast included so I wouldn’t have to go back out into the dust, but staff made the booking complicated and time-consuming. It felt as if they were avoiding adding breakfast. I was exhausted and couldn’t stand around waiting. I’d specifically hoped for a five-star experience, but later realized the property seemed closer to a four-star level, which may explain why the service didn’t feel warm or welcoming. The staff came across as cold and mechanical, with little empathy. If I’d been feeling better, I probably would have cancelled and gone elsewhere, but I stayed because of my condition at the time. It was a disappointing experience, and I hope management improves staff training so guests in difficult circumstances get a more understanding response.

The food really made the celebration, and our guests told us how much they liked it and the arrangements. We held our daughter’s first birthday in the banquet hall, which was beautifully kept. Vamsi, the sales manager, chef Soundhar, and banquet hall manager Saravanan were helpful, welcoming, and attentive throughout. It was a memorable day for us. Highly recommend it.

The gym, pool, and good food made this a comfortable place for a short visit. I stayed one day on a business trip and was thoroughly impressed. Everyone was professional and welcoming, especially the restaurant team, who kept smiling and serving well even while very busy. I was very satisfied with the hospitality and would recommend the place. Well done to the team.
