Uhome turned out to be a surprisingly superb place to stay. The staff were friendly and the management understanding. The delicious food at Mathsya veg restaurant made it more memorable. At reception, Tirumala ghatanadam made us feel as if we were in Tirumala.

The rooms are old but clean, and the hotel is close to Egmore station. Still, even though its name starts with OYO, the management doesn’t honor online bookings. I went with my family after booking online, but they refused to give us a room. Don’t book or pay online here.

A comfortable and affordable stay. The room was nice, and the room service was good. Mathsya hotel is nearby, and so is Egmore railway station, which makes this a convenient place to stay.

I went to the hotel on the night of 6 October after seeing an OYO deal for a suite. It’s an old property, nothing like the pictures, and the cramped parking was already full. When I showed them the OYO offer price, they bluntly said there was some issue and that they would deny check-in even if I booked. After looking at the rooms, I walked out. They were cramped and steeply priced.

What you see in the Goibibo or OYO photos is completely different from the hotel. Worst hotel I’ve ever seen. Please don’t stay here.
