We paid after seeing that the room and bathroom were clean, but then were told to use another room’s bathroom to shower. There was no hot water or dental kit, and apart from the room, none of the facilities advertised online seemed to be available. They wouldn’t even sell us tea. Staff were good, but that didn’t help with the lack of basics. There are no nearby shops except a TASMAC. Check the essentials before paying, and don’t rely on other reviews. I’ve never come across a hotel like this.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was good. Our room was spacious, though it had some maintenance problems, including trouble with the AC and TV. Room readiness was an issue when we checked in, and one room was missing amenities. We had to call several times about cleaning because no one told us to hand over the key. As a result, that room went uncleaned for two days. I also wish the owner spoke to staff more politely in front of guests. With some changes, TIA Hotels could offer a better stay.

The room was nice, with a chair and table, and the property is on the main road. That location was why I booked it for five days in Chennai. But at check-in, they told me the AC was scheduled for maintenance and wouldn’t work for the next three days. I’d paid before arriving after they repeatedly asked me to do so. Why accept the booking for those dates if the AC wouldn’t be available? After my tiring trip, they laid out the problems and suggested another property, farther from the main road and without a chair or table. I was traveling for work, so that setup mattered to me. The hotel itself may be good, but the way they handled my booking made the stay stressful and very inconvenient.

The location near the main road is convenient, and my room was good. We stayed one night for a relative’s wedding. I heard that hot water wasn’t working in some rooms, and that a soap dispenser was broken. The kitchen smelled bad and seemed very poorly managed. They did have a kettle for hot water. Parking can be a serious problem for a group. If the lot is full, there’s nowhere outside to park. Just an average stay.
