Taj Club House

I appreciated the complimentary souvenir at checkout, a thoughtful little gesture. The property has a pleasant, well-kept feel, and both the rooms and common areas were clean. Staff were polite and helpful, though the service didn’t really stand out. In the standard room, sounds from next door carried easily, including doors and cupboards, and could be disruptive. The bathroom also had weak water pressure, especially in the shower, and the sliding washroom door was awkward to lock. Check-in and checkout felt poorly managed and slow during busy periods, with long waits. The hotel is well maintained and in a good location, but better sound isolation, bathroom usability, and front-desk efficiency would improve the stay.

We weren’t sure at first how all my friends and I could stay together at Taj Club House, but Mr. Imran, the front desk manager, found us a great deal on a luxurious suite that fit everyone. He went out of his way to make us comfortable and was an excellent guide during our stay. Thanks to him, the visit was fantastic. The food and service staff were outstanding and very polite. I’d recommend the hotel to families and people of all ages. I’d rate it 9 out of 10. It was a memorable stay, and I’m grateful to Taj Club House.

The food was better than I expected, both in quality and variety, and the location was convenient and easy to reach. I also liked the calm, welcoming atmosphere and the attention to detail. Whenever we needed help, service was prompt. It was a comfortable, hassle-free stay for the price, and I’d gladly return and recommend it.

My two-night stay at Taj Club House left me disappointed. I’ve stayed at other Taj properties in Chennai, including Fisherman cove, a beach-facing resort with good food but high rates, and Vivanta, a nice hotel with good food at a reasonable price. I expected similar hospitality here. The central location and decent rooms were about all it had to offer, and the service felt below par for what I paid. There were a few good points: the room upgrade came with the perfect staycation package, cakes were provided for the occasion, and security staff were attentive and courteous. The central location was useful too, though the hotel itself wasn’t anything special. Most of the staff seemed lethargic and uninterested, with little energy or warmth. Food was below average, and the dinner buffet didn’t justify its cost. The spa wasn’t inviting, and its staff seemed just as dull as the rest. Service was very slow. Towels took over an hour to arrive despite three follow-ups. Nobody brought disposable cutlery for the cake after a 45-minute wait, and the welcome fruit platter listed in the pamphlet never came until I complained at checkout. That feeling of Tajness was missing. If location doesn’t matter, I’d choose Vivanta instead, since it offers better service for half the price.
