Dumas Guest House

I spent several weeks here and stayed in two different rooms. Both were lovely, and the inside of the property is beautiful. The staff are wonderful. It's well placed for White Town, and it's easy to get a rickshaw to anywhere in Pondi. I'll stay again.

We spent two days at this beautiful property. The rooms are spacious, and the courtyards make it a lovely space. A great place to stay in Pondicherry.

It's in a convenient spot for exploring Rock Beach and White Town, with a common paid parking area nearby since the hotel has no private parking. Our room was spacious, neat, and clean. Antique furniture gives the place a warm charm, and the thoughtfully designed interiors made for a comfortable atmosphere. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout, and the hospitality was good. Breakfast was the letdown. We chose South Indian food and got idli, pongal, poori, and vada, but everything was cold and didn't seem fresh. There isn't an in-house restaurant, only breakfast, so it seemed the food may have come from an outside restaurant. Looking back, we'd have been better off going to one of the nearby cafes or eateries, which have much better choices.

The colonial feel, little garden, and spacious rooms make this a well maintained property. It's in a prime part of Whitetown, with easy access to popular tourist spots and excellent eateries. The staff are very polite and courteous.
