Hotel Aksharadha

We confirmed a brunch order well ahead of time for about 40 people at 10:30 AM after a function. Even so, it was delayed by 1 hour 15 minutes. When we asked what was happening, the response was negligible, and family members organising the event couldn't answer relatives about the delay. Service was slow, and the staff didn't seem trained to serve the food. For example, we asked for moor kuzhambu but were served butter milk. We saw south Indian non-veg meals advertised for Rs. 250, but were charged Rs. 400 for veg meals. If non-veg meals are Rs. 250, why can't veg meals be similarly priced? Compared with Chennai, what we got wasn't worth Rs. 400. The restrooms were also poorly maintained. Think twice before arranging an event meal here.

Bhaskar's service was the only good part, a 5. The room, location, and food were all a 0. Staying here made my Pondi experience disappointing. The breakfast buffet was rubbish, room service wasn't on time, and nobody helped with luggage at check-in or check-out. Parking was inadequate, the rooms were old, and the bathroom needs repairs.

The staff were very decent, polite, and friendly, and our one-night stay with two kids was OK, though not satisfactory. The hotel isn't in the city, so there's no city feel, and as a tourist there isn't an option to stroll around or go clubbing. You're limited to the room. Breakfast wasn't a buffet either. They brought it to the room, with just one choice from three options.

I stayed here for a marriage function. At checkout they charged me 500 rupees because I was leaving one hour after their stated time. I accidentally left some things behind and came back a week later, but they said nothing was there. Then a staff member told me management doesn't inform customers about belongings they've left. The customer service was awful, and the whole thing felt money-minded. I won't stay with them again.
