Kariappa House

The old South Indian home feel is lovely, and the homestay is tucked away in the lanes of Puducherry. It has several clean rooms, friendly dogs, and a good-sized swimming pool that guests can book in slots. Lunch and dinner can be requested onsite or delivered from outside. Vanajja Akka leads the kitchen, Ram ji takes care of the property, and Mukesh is the property manager. They and the rest of the team were all very sweet, courteous, and helpful. Would love to visit again.

Breakfast was tasty, though seating is limited, so it’s better to come early. The big trees in the central area make staying here a pleasure. There’s a lovely landscape, and the caretakers, cooks, and receptionists are very helpful. Rooms have colonial-style furniture, high beds, and clean bathrooms.

It feels more like an idyllic retreat than a hotel. The French quarter is a short, interesting walk away. Staff were excellent, with Mukesh overseeing things really well. We hope to come back one day. 5 stars.

The residential location a little outside town suited me well. Nights were peaceful, and it was easy to get away from the intensity of town. My room was sumptuous, the food was delicious, and the guest house felt like a sanctuary. From my first contact in Australia, the service was respectful and helpful, and the welcome in person exceeded my expectations. I could happily spend a month here getting massages and enjoying the ambience. I’ll definitely return. Big shout out to Mukesh for being so patient, cheerful, and helpful. Five stars from me.
