Hotel City Plaza & Restaurant

The rooms looked very different from the old, nice pictures they sent while booking. When we walked in, a mouse came out of the room, and there was a pigeon in the bathroom. The rooms were messy and unclean, the bedsheets and blankets hadn't been washed, and the floor hadn't been cleaned either. The TV and phones were just for display and didn't work. I understand it's a "cheap" hotel, but basic hygiene should still be maintained. See the room before checking in.

I booked a Deluxe room for the night of the 22nd after I couldn't find anything in my budget around Gwalior. Agoda had a decent offer, so I thought it was a fair deal. Before arriving, I called to say we'd be late, but nobody answered. When we got there, the staff were sleeping outside and the receptionist wasn't available. Once he arrived, he asked us to show our details without checking his own system. We had to confirm our payment again, and he asked which room we'd booked. The room we were taken to was horrendous. I went back to reception about being given the wrong room, but the attendant rudely denied it and said the pictures were a bait, adding that they don't assign rooms based on pictures. The room had no windows and terrible ventilation. The linens were unclean and the toilet shabby. I woke up suffocating during the night and had to turn on the AC and open the washroom window to get some air. I've never had such a bad experience. This shouldn't even be a last resort. Sleeping on a railway station platform would be better. They should be delisted from Agoda, since it feels like a scam based on good pictures and horrible service.

The room was less than 90sqft, despite the listing showing 144sqft. The staff were very rude just because I booked online. I've never seen another hotel's policy of giving only one towel to two people in a room, even after asking for one more. There's no normal drinking water, only packaged water. If you aren't booking offline, don't book online or you'll get cheated.

The Thali was excellent, every item tasted delicious, and the service was quick and attentive. We also found the rooms clean and comfortable, with good ambience and economical prices. The staff were well mannered and friendly. It's a budget hotel for families, with most sightseeing places nearby. The sweet memory of this hotel will stay in our hearts forever.
