Hotel Aditya

The room was a calm place to return to after exploring Pondicherry. It was spotless, nicely decorated, and kept in good condition, with a very comfortable bed and high-quality amenities. The hotel is right in the heart of the city, so getting to popular sights and the lively parts of town was easy. From the moment I arrived, the staff welcomed me with warm smiles and real hospitality. It was a wonderful stay from beginning to end.

The underground parking is good, and the bed and AC were cozy. But don't be tempted by the cheap room price. The windows were broken and only had a net, and the bathroom water was yellowish and stinky. I wouldn't plan to stay here if I wanted to take a bath.

HOTEL ADITYA, not Aditya INN near the bus stand, at 104, Kamaraj Salai, Ilango Nagar, Puducherry, 605011. The location is excellent, and there's 24-hour security. Restaurants and wine shops are easy to get to, and the place has a clean, decent feel and a family environment. The manager was decent and cooperative. Toilets were OK, but I experienced a mosquito problem, and hot water was supplied manually. Attenders were very keen on tips. Rooms are very small, especially on the mezzanine and ground floors. The second-floor rooms are OK. There's no restaurant and car parking is limited. Rates are on the high side, though online booking was almost Rs. 400 per day cheaper. Maintenance was very poor, even in the Deluxe Rooms. Overall, poor.

They let us check in three hours early, and the helpdesk is there around the clock. Staff were really friendly, and everything is close by. They even bring Swiggy and Zomato orders to your door, but bring your own drinking water. The room has hot water for bathing, a shower, smart TV, AC, storage, a dressing table, chairs, and a table. It looks new and was quiet. There's also a phone in the room to reach staff.
