Hiraba Homestay

The food was delicious, and the natural surroundings made the stay feel special. Hiraba Homestay has a real home-away-from-home feel, with excellent service and hosts who care about keeping guests comfortable. One of my best homestay experiences. I’d definitely come back.

I arrived on a Saturday when there weren’t any rooms left in the city, and the people at hiraba found space for me. Be sure to book ahead, as weekends fill up. The property is uphill and has magnificent views of Cherrapunji, plenty of rooms, and two beautiful ponds. The knowledgeable, compassionate host can offer guidance on nearby places and treks. They serve food and tea too. It felt like an escape from the usual. Thank you for the best stay in Cherrapunji.

We paid ₹4.5k for one night for eight people, in Room no 110 for five and Room no 105 for three. Food isn’t included, but there are varied options at very reasonable prices. Room no 110 and the surrounding area had good Airtel wifi coverage, so it’s suitable for working from the mountains. Lama was a very good host, and everything from the room to the service was perfect. For a group of 4-5, ask Lama for room no 110 if you want the best view. There’s a natural swimming pool too, but with our evening check-in and early morning checkout we couldn’t use it. ❤️✅HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
