The Hosteller Chikmagalur

We had a great time here, with plenty of privacy and the chance to meet people and make friends. The cricket area was especially fun, and the atmosphere and upkeep were impressive. Staff were really helpful when there wasn’t a single bed available and managed things for us. The one small drawback was that the upper dorm beds had no fan. Fix that and this place would be top-notch.

It’s a peaceful spot surrounded by greenery, a nice way to enjoy the Chikmagalur atmosphere and unwind. The Hosteller Chikmagalur is clean, well cared for, and laid out thoughtfully, with comfortable common areas where it’s easy to meet other travelers. Staff are friendly and happy to help with local tips or requests. Rooms and dorms are tidy, beds are comfortable, and hygiene is good. It’s good value and suits solo travelers, backpackers, or groups looking for a comfortable social stay.

The calm setting really added to the peaceful feel of my stay at The Hosteller Chikmagalur. The hosts and other guests were great company, but the pets were the stars: Coco the dog and Shadow the cat with her adorable kittens were so sweet. I loved it and highly recommend the place.

Manu and Kamlesh were a big part of what made my stay pleasant. They were friendly and helpful, and the property was clean and well maintained. I enjoyed the campfire, and there’s also a games room, a small playground, and lots of parking. The facilities still need work, though. The Wi-Fi was close to unusable, the water cooler was far from the rooms, check-in felt more complicated than necessary, and there’s no food on site, so every meal means relying on Swiggy. Whether you’ll meet other travelers seems to depend on the day. Saturday night is probably the best bet, since the hostel can feel quite empty on other days. It has potential, but my four-star stay was decent mainly because of the staff, with clear room for improvement.
