The Sattva - Nature Retreat

The food was our favorite part of our two nights at The Sattva. We tried Akki Rotti, Menthe Mudde, Akki Kadubu, buns, Neer Dose, Set Dose, and a lovely range of curries. Every meal was hearty, delicious, and full of local flavor. Prabhakar uncle took us around the plantation and showed us the many plants and produce grown across the estate. His knowledge was impressive, and both he and Kavitha aunty were lovely to talk with. We learned a lot about coffee and plantations, and they were happy to share what they knew. The property is quietly tucked into the forests of Chikmagalur, and it was interesting to see coffee processing around the estate since the owners run a coffee business. Prabhakar uncle and Kavitha aunty welcomed my husband and me so warmly and made us feel at home. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. A peaceful weekend place to unwind and relax, highly recommended.

We spent 2N/3D at Sattva Nature, from 18 to 20th Nov 2025. The location and scenery are beautiful, and the simple room sits in a superb location. It's a lovely choice for anyone wanting peaceful surroundings. The owners took a personal interest and provided the food we wanted, with special care over vegetarian meals for a customer suffering from diabetes. The warm couple hosting Sattva made the whole stay feel like home, and the barbecue and bonfire evenings gave it a special touch. The food was sumptuous, with authentic Malnad cooking that was a real delight. Just 15-16 km from the main town of Chikmagalur, the retreat has tastefully designed rooms looking onto lush alpine greenery. A truly memorable stay.

The food was a highlight for us. Mrs. Prabhakar prepared every meal, each one a delicious showcase of authentic Malnad flavors and soulful home cooking. Our hosts, Mr. and Mrs. Prabhakar, also went out of their way to make us comfortable, and the scrumptious barbecue they arranged was another favorite. We spent two wonderful days at Sattva Nature Retreat. The cozy rooms, heartfelt hospitality, and homely food made it everything we had hoped for. With lush greenery and misty mountains all around, the peaceful, scenic setting made time seem to slow down. We left refreshed, with happy bellies and a quiet promise to return. Sattva is an experience you carry back with you.
