Fabhotel Kayal Plaza

The location is quiet and decent, near the codicia building in Peelamedu. Kayal plaza is a good, new building with 25 affordable A/C rooms, all of them large and well organised. The building plan covers all the facilities, and we appreciate the architect's work. Hangers haven't been provided, and cars aren't allowed to park inside, though there's plenty of street parking on the 33-foot-wide road at the tail end. Mr Siva kumar is energetic, strict, and good at managing bookings and organising service. Mr Magesh, the property manager, was honest and approachable. Most guests seemed to be families, decent business men, and college students, both girls and boys.

The room was clean at check-in, and the ambience was good. During my stay of a couple of days, they didn't clean the room or regularly replace the towels and bedspreads. The bathroom mats seemed to be dried and reused without washing. The receptionist didn't know how to behave with customers. The floor cleaner left the floor slippery and uncomfortable to walk on barefoot, and they didn't fix it despite several reminders. There's no in-room intercom for service calls, and the Wi-Fi is slow. You have to ask for the password. Late at night, other guests would check in and shout on the floor. If your room is near the lift, its alert sound is really annoying.

The room itself was nice and well maintained, but the receptionist was extremely rude and behaved badly. He didn't seem to listen to us or know how to deal with customers. He left a very bad impression. If anyone has had the same experience, please share it here.

We had a horrible experience at Kayal Plaza. Despite paying in full through Agoda, the receptionist blamed us for OTP issues, kept telling us to sit, and wouldn't properly help at the desk. We were left waiting for over an hour at lunchtime with our baby and got no support. Agoda later confirmed the hotel couldn't be reached and cancelled the booking. This was the worst reception experience I've had in all my travels across India. Management really needs to train staff to treat guests properly.
