La Courtyard

This was our third visit to La Courtyard, but sadly the worst by far. During our two-day stay, we had rude service, poor maintenance, and basic issues like water taking too long to arrive. The complimentary breakfast was badly managed and ran out within an hour, leaving guests without food. The room we got bore no resemblance to the one shown when we booked. At reception, the staff member was rude and said, “I don’t know if you booked with the owner, you call him if you want. I can’t do anything.” We were moved to a tiny room with a horrible washroom, then shown another room with an internal door connecting to a second room. That felt irresponsible for a family booking. After we contacted the owner, we were promised a ground-floor room in 15 minutes. We waited nearly an hour without an update, then reception said it wouldn't be ready until after 9 PM. We asked them to call when it was ready, but no one did. When we got back around 11 PM, the receptionist rudely asked, “At what time you guys are coming?” We had to argue to get the room we were promised. It still had a poor washroom, no hot water, a strange smell from the sink and blanket, and water leaking from the AC.

We found this place after doing our research and got a great deal. The rooms were clean and well kept, breakfast was included, the staff were very friendly, and there's a pleasant little garden. Being close to Serenity Beach was a big plus, and car parking is available. A few things could be better: the mattresses should be replaced and exhaust fans added in the bathrooms. There are very few places to eat right nearby.

The room felt peaceful and was spacious, comfortable, and well planned, with good amenities. My only suggestion is to improve the cleanliness. Still, it was a great stay, and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting comfort and quality.

The staff were professional and behaved well. We extended our stay by a few hours, and they cooperated for a minimal additional amount. The rooms were good, and both the main town and serenity beach are within walking distance. Hot water service could be better.
