Itsy Hotels Green Villaa, 2 Km From Pondicherry Railway Station

We booked two rooms for 20th Feb 2026 for an official trip, just for two women who were driving in late and needed a clean, safe night before continuing the next day. The front office man called asking for an advance. Since it was a TREEBO, I didn't think much of it, and the landmark he gave didn't seem suspicious. But the road went deep inside and stank of sewage. The hotel was dark and dingy, with beer bottles scattered around, unswept floors, broken sheds and dirty linen piled everywhere. He first said there was no room for our driver, but when I saw the place, I felt it was safer to have him stay. Somehow a room was then readied. Then I found our toilet unflushed and dirty. By this point three or four young men had joined the front desk person, which set off alarm bells. He put me on the phone with the owner, who sounded more like a Madame and told me to leave if I couldn't put up with dirty toilets. We left and somehow found safer accommodation for the night. Women, be careful about booking TREEBO properties without checking. This ITSY TREEBO in Pondicherry felt sleazy, with scary staff. It seemed like the place might be used for something else. TREEBO has no way to register complaints, perhaps that's how TREEBO keeps growing. We expected better from TREEBO. Next they'll be advertising pavements.

This was a bad experience for us. The property smells of nearby drainage, and the dining area is right by it. Breakfast was complimentary, but the dishes were brought from some roadside shop and didn't seem hygienic. The idly, idiyappam and poori weren't good. They call the place a three-star hotel, but it wasn't even worth one star to me. No complimentary room or bathroom kit was provided, and even water came only after a long wait when we asked. There was no wifi or hot water either. We booked for two days but cancelled the second because we didn't like anything. The big parking area was the only advantage. It's not a place I'd choose for a family. When I contacted Treebo about checking out early and making a complaint, neither its support system nor the property management helped properly.

The location is superb, with plenty of car parking. Owner, the property could be the best in the city if you upgraded it. The rooms have an odd smell, the towels smell old, the bathroom buckets are faded and the mug is broken. The dining area also needs work: the faded plastic plates and torn tablecloths make it look poorly maintained and outdated. Breakfast isn't appealing, and I wouldn't call this ideal for families with kids. A renovation to match the standard shown in your Google images could make this place the best.

The rooms are nice, but they don't get cleaned unless you ask reception. The tap water is salty too. At booking, late checkout was listed as complimentary, yet they asked me to pay extra for it.
