The Postcard Saligao

Food was excellent, and we appreciated the thoughtful suggestion for a beachfront restaurant with breathtaking sunset views. The property is tucked away somewhere very quiet, yet taxis are easy to find and affordable, and a nice small village is within walking distance. The rooms and the whole house are beautifully designed, with outstanding service from a warm and attentive team. The Postcard Cuelim has only a handful of rooms, so it feels like staying in a private home. That refined, highly individual approach was unlike anything we’d experienced on our travels. It’s an exquisite, intimate retreat, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking peace, privacy and understated luxury.

The restaurant deserves a mention first: everything we ate was delicious and made in house, and each evening there was a sweet little gift, from local chocolates to magnets. Our family had five of the six rooms, and we all loved the property. Panduranga Falker and the team were thoughtful with every guest, from start to finish. The photos online really don’t show it properly. I travel a lot, and this was one of my favorite hotel stays. My husband and I would book another Postcard property next time we’re in India or Sri Lanka.

Breakfast is available all day, which was great, and Vishal and Ritvik gave terrific service. A special mention to Charith, too. The hotel is a gorgeous house over 350 years old, with stylish period fittings and finishes. It was wonderfully quiet and felt exclusive. I’ll definitely come back, and Postcard is now at the top of my list when I plan my next trip.

Breakfast and other meals were cooked fresh to order whenever we wanted, either in our room or in the dining room. Check-in and check-out times were fully flexible, and the service was immaculate. The estate is small, peaceful, and surrounded by natural grounds full of wildlife. Just six rooms, each with its own character and period furnishings, sit within this lovely old property. Mr Pandu kept the whole place running faultlessly, with special help from Vishal and Hari. We hope to return on our next trip to Goa.
