You can walk straight from the property into the tea plantations, which we loved. Our executive valley view room had a balcony overlooking the tea, and the breakfast each morning was generous and delicious. The food includes tasty South Indian dishes and a good range of other cuisines. Staff were helpful with whatever we needed, including taxis and sightseeing. It’s a lovely, thoughtfully put together boutique place, and I’d be glad to return.

The staff were polite, attentive, and quick to help, which made us feel welcome the whole time. We enjoyed the food enormously, some of the best of our trip, and the sunset trip on our last day was unforgettable. Sunvalley Resort is surrounded by tea estates, with peaceful walks and beautiful views, and the atmosphere is calm and refreshing. We even seriously thought about staying two extra days and dropping our Ooty plans, but the resort was full because of the weekend rush. Understandable, given how much we liked it. Next time we’re in Coonoor, we’ll stay here. Highly recommended for the views, food, and quiet.

Our first South India trip became unforgettable partly because of this one night at Sunvalley Resort, Coonoor. The staff welcomed us kindly, helped with the check-in formalities, walked us to our room, and carefully explained the facilities. The room was clean, peaceful, romantic, and arranged as we’d requested. We especially remember the 2.5-hour safari ride to the edge of Coonoor, with its wide views. The resort itself had gardens of roses, lotus, and other bright flowers, alongside beautiful coffee estates, cool weather, moonlight, and fresh air. Even small touches like herbal water, RO water, clean rooms, and relaxing massage services added to the restful feeling. We left after just one night with full hearts and lifelong memories, and will surely come back. A lovely option for a peaceful, romantic stay close to nature.

The restaurant menu could use more variety, though the food itself was pretty good. We spent three nights at Sunvalley and felt quite at home. Our deluxe valley view room was spacious enough and had a lovely outlook. The rooms were spotless, the property was very quiet and well cared for, and both hotel and restaurant staff were welcoming and helpful with arrangements. Service was prompt and efficient.
