OYO 8241 Hotel Green Park

The location made getting to the main attractions and public transport easy, and the price felt like good value since we got more than expected. Our room was clean and maintained well, with comfortable beds and modern amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.

The room had a bad smell, and the beds were cold, damp, and smelly, so getting a decent night's sleep was almost impossible. The room also didn't seem to have been cleaned properly, and there was no shampoo. I was charged more than the rate shown on Booking.com, which was disappointing from the start. I can't recommend this hotel after this stay. There must be better places in Darjeeling with fair prices and comfortable rooms. I hope management takes these problems seriously for future guests.

We spent more than two hours trying to locate the hotel and ended up frustrated. The Google Maps address was wrong, there was no clear signage or nearby parking, and the person we called wouldn't give us the exact location. We had booked 2 rooms at Hotel Green Park, Darjeeling through Booking.com and had confirmation, but the person on the phone was rude, demanded advance payment through GPay, which we couldn't use because we're from Nepal, and then denied the booking. Our repeated calls were ignored or cut off, and our WhatsApp message got no reply. The management was very unprofessional and irresponsible, with no help or courtesy and only an interest in advance payment. Strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.

After a long journey, we arrived in the evening with my family and kids, only to be told our 4 reserved rooms were unavailable. The receptionist said he knew nothing about the bookings and that the owner, who handles reservations, wasn't there. We were left without rooms, had to sit outside at night, and scramble to find another hotel. I'd booked through Booking.com with the pay-at-property option, but the hotel still demanded a 25% advance to confirm. I was traveling from overseas and insisted on paying on arrival, as the listing allowed. I called to reconfirm and messaged again the morning we arrived, so I thought it was all set. This place is unprofessional and unreliable, with terrible communication. Avoid it, and don't trust them with a booking if you don't want to be left in the lurch.
