Rani Kothi Heritage Palace

Pratik looked after us so well during our three nights, and the staff were polite and wonderfully hospitable. The mansion is around 250 years old, so it does have a few flaws, but that’s part of its rustic charm. It’s a peaceful place for a family, away from Darjeeling’s bustle. If you enjoy history and vintage things, this is a lovely place to stay.

There are historical objects, paintings, and sculptures all through the palace, and they’re fascinating to look at. Outside, it’s quiet and green, with a beautiful mountain view, and you can walk into the center easily. We’d picked an ordinary guesthouse at random on Booking, but wound up somewhere that felt like a real palace, with a proper royal room. The staff were such fun that we became friends, and you can order tasty food and drinks here. I’d recommend a stay if you want to feel like royalty for a few days ❤️

There’s a lovely collection of books if you want to unwind with some reading, and the balcony has a marvellous view of kanchenjunga. The staff were pleasant and well behaved. It’s a comfortable place with an old-world feel.

The hotel has an excellent view, and the staff are cooperative and helpful. The manager was especially kind, going beyond his usual duties to help people, which I really admire. Staying among the wooden floors and antique furniture brought back a strong sense of nostalgia and connection to the history of our Burdwan kings and queens. Rani kothi was a beautiful place to stay during our visit to Darjeeling. I’ll come back next time and recommend it to friends.
