I had such a good time here. Between all the tea, the warm hospitality and the chance to get out and explore, it was a great stay. The lush greenery made it easy to relax and unwind. Just book it!

Our stay was frightening and not a good experience. There were ants all over the bed and floor, and we found a dead lizard near the window. We also saw a baby cobra hiding behind the window curtain. It nearly bit one of my friends, who moved just in time. The farm owner later killed the snake.

The cottages, made of wood, stone and cloth, seem to belong right in the landscape. The tea and fresh home-cooked breakfast brought back childhood memories. At night, the clear sky, stars and crickets made a lovely setting for roasted food and stories with friends. Dazu and Didi were always smiling, and their generous hospitality really stayed with me. I wish I could have spent longer, but my itinerary was tight. I left with muddy boots, a full heart and a promise to return when I can. Thanks to the owner for the experience, and to my friend Dr Subba for suggesting it. Tathagata farmstay is a place that reaches you through the breeze in the trees, birdsong and sunshine rising over the hills. Down in the valley of lebong, it reminded me how good it is to be close to nature. Mornings began with birds, dew on the grass and the smell of wet soil. Sipping tea as the sun came up made the noise, rush and conflict of city life fade away. Peace, calm and solitude slowly sank in, and I was reminded that slowing down matters and simple things can bring the most joy.

There are only five cottages at the farm, so you'd be lucky to get one. The support staff were amazing, and the homemade food was great. I didn't meet the owner, Navin, but we were in regular contact. He came across as very calm and a thorough gentleman. Even while dealing with a serious personal issue, he never showed any annoyance when I asked him questions. You're a star, mate. Keep it up. I'd definitely like to return. The farm sits in nature and is ideal for people coming to Darjeeling to relax. Birds, peacocks and all the other morning sounds make it a beautiful start to the day.

The scenery around Tathagata Farm Stay made those days feel like a different world. We spent two nights in the tent house in February 2020 and were very happy with the warm hospitality and excellent food. Navin-ji, the owner, took such sincere care of us that we felt overwhelmed, and the staff were polite and helpful too. Best wishes to Tathagata Farm Stay, Darjeeling.
