Rann Riders

A nice break from the city routine. It’s cooler here than in town, and you’re welcomed by birdsong all around. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are friendly, and the food selection is limited but good. It’s a hidden gem less than 100 km from Ahmedabad, and easy to reach by road. Worth trying for a relaxing getaway.

Safari arrangements can be made right from the resort, which is really handy. The place is easy to get to on the main road, and it’s been well maintained each time I’ve visited. I’ve stayed here more than four times over the past 7-8 years. The rooms are very good, service dependable, and food decent. A good base for experiencing a bit of the Rann of Kutch.

The restaurant serves delicious food with a good spread, and the manager and owners check in with guests to make sure things are going well. We stayed for two nights in this lovely resort, where separate cabins and rooms sit across a large garden. Our room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. It had air conditioning, good furnishings, a mini-fridge, tea and coffee, hot water, and complimentary water. Bathroom water pressure was good too. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

The restaurant team were courteous and helpful, and the resort itself is well designed. But it felt like poor value for money. The rates are 4-5 star, while the service and conditions were more like 1-2 star. Our room AC didn’t work properly, water was clogged in the bathroom, and the extra towels we asked for never arrived. The room phone was out of order, so I had to walk to reception each time. Reception staff seemed untrained and responded rather passively. They need to improve their service a lot to make the most of the property.
