Chandra Palace By OYO Rooms

We liked how quiet the area was. It gave us room to relax together, and there are a few shops and restaurants close enough to walk to. The hotel is also near the main road, so getting around was easy, though it isn't in the most central spot. Our room was clean and comfortable, with soft beds and pillows. It was a little small, but spacious enough for two. The bathroom was clean and had a hot shower. The staff were friendly and helpful, and kept making sure we had what we needed. We stayed at Chandra Palace for a weekend getaway as a couple, looking for somewhere clean, comfortable, and affordable, and it worked well for us. OYO 16599 Chandra Palace felt like good value, and we'd stay there again if we were in the area. I'd recommend it to couples wanting a peaceful evening, or anyone looking for an affordable place in Dehradun. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff make an effort to give guests a pleasant stay. Pros: clean rooms, helpful staff, good value, and a quiet location. Cons: it isn't very central, and the rooms are a bit small.

I was backpacking, so the place worked for me, but I wouldn't choose it for a transit stop in Dehradun. The bathroom in particular was only average for cleanliness. Also, the rooms are upstairs and there's no lift. It's tucked away on narrow lanes, so it wasn't easy to find. I also had trouble getting them to honor my booking from booking.com, and it took a discussion to sort that out.

After staying here two or three times, it's become my favorite hotel. The atmosphere is excellent, and it's very close to dehradhun railway station. I've had breakfast and dinner in my room, and the food was good in both taste and quality. Post: APRIL 2023
