I want to share the details so other people don't have the same experience I did. I kept calling the hotel before arriving to check basic services, but the phone was switched off or nobody answered. When we got there, nobody was at reception. A man eventually came and said the resort wasn't operating, then kept refusing to check us in. I was scared because the booking money wasn't refundable and the resort was in the middle of nowhere. After about an hour of hassle, MakeMyTrip customer care helped us get a room. Thank you, MakeMyTrip, you earned my trust. The resort and its views are beautiful, so that part gets five stars. But the restaurant wasn't operating for the first two days. We were hungry and there were no nearby food options. After asking around a lot, we got the number of a delivery person who was based far from the resort. Once the restaurant opened, the menu was still limited. We stayed four days. One night we ordered a pure vegetarian dinner, but it was delivered to the wrong room, where non-vegetarian food was being served. We had to reject it, yet the hotel denied responsibility and charged us even though we hadn't eaten it. Service was also very slow: even tea could take 1.5-2 hours. Our cottage looked nice, but the toilet was partly clogged and needed 5 or 6 flushes each time. There was no transportation available, and the hotel wouldn't help us arrange any. I feel a little embarrassed to say we spent all four days at the resort without getting to visit any places. When we tried to find help elsewhere, people were charging us inflated prices.

I'm Kritika from gaya, and we were there for a summer holiday. We booked at 10 pm. First we were told one room cost 2500, but when we arrived they said we had to take another room and pressured us to do so. Then they charged 3000 per room. Room service was very bad, and later they demanded 8000 because the bathroom flush was broken, even though we hadn't broken it.
The location was a real highlight: Hanshdi Resort sits in peaceful Dhanaulti, close to local attractions, and makes a good base for Mussoorie, Chamba, and Tehri Lake. I left feeling refreshed and would like to come back. Negi ji was a wonderful host, and Subhash in particular helped make our stay comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive, housekeeping kept the room in good shape, and check-in and check-out were easy. They were also ready with suggestions for places nearby, including Surkanda Devi Temple and the lush Deodar forests. My room was clean and thoughtfully laid out, with a rustic feel that suited the surroundings. The bed was comfortable, the large windows looked out over the mountains, and it had the essentials: a heater for the cool weather, a flat-screen TV, and free Wi-Fi. I also enjoyed the garden for a walk and the outdoor seating for morning tea in the fresh air. There's a small play area for kids, too. The in-house restaurant served fresh, tasty local and North Indian food at reasonable prices. It was an enjoyable mix of comfort, nature, and good service, whether you want to relax or explore the area.
Watching the sunset from the balcony was lovely, and the peaceful atmosphere is a big part of this resort's appeal. The food wasn't up to the mark, though. Otherwise, it's quite reasonable. If you love sunsets, you should go.
We had a magical weekend getaway to watch the snow. The nearby spot had breathtaking views of pristine, snow-covered scenery, and the quiet made it a lovely escape from everyday busyness. It was a memorable chance to relax and reconnect with nature, and the winter landscape left us in awe.
