Hotel Ashoka Castle

The room itself was good, but the checkout dispute ruined the stay. They insisted on charging me for a triple-bed room and accused me of lying about our agreement. The money wasn't the issue, being called a liar was. It felt disrespectful and unprofessional, so I wouldn't recommend the hotel. I'd booked a triple-bed room on the first floor for three people and paid an advance confirmation fee. When we arrived, that room wasn't available. They offered one on the third floor, but we declined because I was with my mother and didn't want to manage the stairs. They arranged a double-bed room on the first floor at a nearby hotel instead. There wasn't much room for an extra bed, but it was comfortable and suited us. I confirmed with the owner that we'd pay the double-bed rate, and the owner was polite and accommodating then.

The price is affordable, and there's plenty of food nearby. It's also close to New Delhi railway station. The rooms are a bit old and don't get much ventilation.

Hotel Ashok is a high-end hotel with expensive rooms, so don't expect low prices. I got to attend several events there, and the quality was great. It's a little out of the way if you're using public transport, and cabs can take a long time to arrive at night. Safety and security weren't up to the mark.

There’s plenty to find near the hotel, and the room is good for a cheap price. The metro is half a kilometer away, though an auto costs 100 RS for a round trip. Service was poor: the TV cable went out and nobody came to fix it, and the water was gone for nearly half the day with no one seeming to care. One staff member was busy on their phone and didn't respond to my question.
