Hotel Deluxe Inn

The area around the hotel was dirty, with trash on the road, and the room was in bad shape too. It smelled unpleasant and was very dirty. The cupboard was broken, the TV didn’t work, and the geyser didn’t heat the water properly. Rooms were cleaned every other day, which wasn’t often enough. Really disappointing.

I couldn’t find any hotel called Deluxe Stay Inn at the Google location or anywhere in Delhi. After an online booking, they confirmed it by phone, but when we reached the listed spot, they told us to go to Luxury Stay Hotel. They said they’d provide some other hotel according to the booking rate, and it was below standard. When we asked why, they threatened us and cancelled the booking. It felt like a fraud system. The site photos weren’t real, and no such hotel room was available. Don’t trust online booking here, and don’t book or pay in advance.

This is a bare minimum place, really just for a cheap overnight sleep. It was crowded around the hotel in a congested corner of Mahipalpur, with traffic noise during the day, though mostly quiet at night. The windows didn’t offer a good view. The hotel name had changed but Cleartrip hadn’t updated it, so I had to call Cleartrip to confirm. Some basics were missing or broken: they hadn’t put coffee or milk sachets in the room, the bathroom handle was broken, water stopped briefly until they started the pump after I called, and the toilet seat cover was dislocated. The AC was always set to 18 C but blew air that didn’t even feel like 24 C. They also hadn’t checked the kettle before assigning the room, so it had to be replaced after I called while already in a morning rush. On the positive side, someone helped carry my luggage, and the fan kept the temperature manageable for sleeping. When things were lacking because of poor planning, management did fix them or provide alternatives promptly.

We felt well looked after, and the calm atmosphere and comfortable beds made for a fantastic stay. They paid attention to the details. Worth every penny.
