Hotel Southern

The building shown for our corporate booking wasn't where we were put up. We had to walk to the other building for breakfast and any food, and there was no attendant in the building where we stayed. The whole experience was unexpectedly awful. We had booked three meals as part of the corporate deal, but the manager didn't seem to care about guest comfort. It felt like we were just looted. The room wasn't worth more than 2000, yet it cost 5000 plus tax. This is the kind of hotel to suggest to an enemy if you want them to be irritated and miserable. The worst hotel I've ever seen.

The location isn't especially pleasing, though the stay was good value for money. We had a neat, well-maintained suite and very good food at masala -andhra restaurant. I was nervous because of all the negative reviews, especially with six family members and one child, but it turned out to be a pleasant, decent hotel. I'd recommend it for a short family trip, particularly if you don't plan to spend much time in the room.

I chose Dhaka International Hotel over Southern Hotel on 16/01/2026. It has a restaurant serving until 12 PM, though there's no room heater. It's a 3.5-star budget hotel on the main road, with clean rooms and honest service, and I think it's much better for a family stay. Southern Hotel is disappointing for families, with poor rooms, bunk beds, and fake central heating. It feels like a scam. Overall, Dhaka International Hotel is the better option.

The main inconvenience is that the rooms and reception are in separate buildings, and the lift isn't well maintained. Aside from that, Hotel Southern in Karol Bagh was a decent stay: the location is convenient, the rooms were clean and well maintained, and the staff were polite and helpful.
