Hotel Stay House Inn

The location was a problem too: cars and rickshaws couldn't reach the hotel, so I had to carry my suitcase over the last stretch on foot. I paid 2000 for an executive room. There were no towels, and after I asked four times, they finally told me at 11pm they had none. When I said I wanted to cancel and get a refund, they borrowed towels from a nearby hotel, and one was stained. There was no toilet paper either. They gave me tissues when I asked. The shower didn't work, so I had to use a bucket. The water stopped at random during the night and wasn't hot. The kettle had no cord, so it was only useful as a water container. One staff member seemed sorry, but the others didn't seem bothered. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The place seems newly renovated and was generally well kept, though I got the impression rooms are booked online only because of where the hotel sits inside the area. I stayed three days on a business trip. The standard and executive rooms seemed the same size to me, and both felt small. Wi-Fi and AC worked well. The TV had no channels beyond YouTube, though you could log in with your own subscription. The metro and railway station were within walking distance, under 1 km, but you have to walk about 100 m in from Bazar road since only bikes can get inside. We booked breakfast, and the food tasted good, but it was too oily. Their breakfast list had limited choices, with extra charges for anything else. In-room supplies were towels, handwash, bodywash, an electric kettle, tea bags, instant coffee sachets, and creamer. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and shampoo would have been useful too. I found the morning receptionist rather bossy; she wouldn't agree to requests the first time. They gave each person a 250 ml water bottle. Since we stayed three days, we asked for more, but the receptionist said bottles were only provided at check-in and offered water from a common area on the ground floor. We declined and asked for packed water as per the policy. They eventually gave it to us after a long discussion.

The staff were helpful and polite during my stay, though cleanliness and facilities could be better. My experience was average overall. I hope they improve those areas for future guests. Thank you for the service.

The rooms were so cramped that even sitting comfortably as a guest was difficult, and there weren't any chairs, probably because there was no room for them. The hotel isn't on the main road, and public transport drivers often won't go there, so getting to it is difficult. The complimentary water was just a tiny ₹5 bottle, which didn't feel like enough. Food was expensive for the quality and overall experience.
