OYO 22135 Hotel Kanishka Palace

Water isn't available on every floor. To get it, you have to go to the restroom on the ground floor, where the RO is fitted. The windows didn't work properly, and the door was very loose with a broken lock. The AC also didn't work, and no one seemed to care. Even after repeated requests, they couldn't get it repaired properly. There's a lot to improve, and I don't think that will happen soon.

Karolbagh has plenty going on, and the market is about 1km from the hotel. Beyond that, I found no positives. There's no lift, the place isn't clean, and the corridors are dim. The windows look like 1970s models, and half are broken and won't close all the way. Nothing is provided unless you ask, even though I paid in full online almost a month ahead. Our room wasn't cleaned once during our 4-night stay. The GEYSER didn't work either, and they kept turning off the AC by pulling out its wires. We paid Rs.35 for 1ltr mineral water. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The rooms were disgusting, the bathrooms poorly maintained, and the hotel wasn't kept clean. Insects and rodents wandered around, and the ACs were very old. The manager and owner first win you over with sweet talk, then pressure you for money. They also charge extra for electricity beyond the official government rates. If you want a rented room or PG, I wouldn't go here: they take a deposit equal to the room rent and don't return it when you leave, claiming maintenance charges. The lifts don't work, although they'll tell you they'll work at night. I believe the positive comments and 5-star reviews are written by the owner and manager themselves. This was a horrible experience. Don't choose this hotel for a stay, ever.

The rooms are average for the high price, though the hotel is in the heart of Karol Bagh, Delhi, and very close to Karol Bagh metro station. If you're considering it, it's an average option. You can check other hotels in the same location and bargain on the price.
