The hotel’s location is good, and the room was a decent size for traveling solo. Breakfast was decent too, but it was never fully set out at the advertised 8am start during the four days I stayed. The dishes were all there by about 8.30. The complimentary dinner included in my booking was tasteless. The place needs a lot of maintenance: lift buttons were broken, my charging point was loose, and the room was cold. They wouldn’t provide a heater. There’s also a strange rule against ordering from Zomato or Swiggy, which I’ve never encountered at a hotel elsewhere in the country. For Rs 4,000+ a night, it wasn’t worth it. The rooms and facilities feel more like a Rs 3k-4k property, and I don’t think a hotel like this should charge more than 2.5k.

I booked this stay for my sister, who had a horrible experience in early January this year. She faced repeated hygiene and safety problems, and got no resolution from the staff at Nehru Place or the corporate office. Her room’s window lock was broken during peak Delhi winter. While she was using the toilet, the water stopped. Another guest called reception and was told water work had caused the disconnection, but my sister hadn’t been warned, even though the hotel messaged her on WhatsApp about things like check-in. The water stayed off for more than an hour. When it came back, it ran yellow, and reception said that might continue for a while because of the work. Again, nobody had told her in advance. There was no hot water at all for a whole day, and the water smelled so bad that the bathroom and room smelled like sewage. She couldn’t use the water or shower. She asked reception to change rooms or arrange an alternative, but nobody helped; the staff were dismissive and insensitive. For the last two days, black, smelly water came through the toilet. Maintenance staff who checked it acknowledged the smell, while management brushed off the problem. The corporate office didn’t respond either. We paid over Rs 10,000 for three nights, which isn’t cheap, and my sister became sick from the cold and unhygienic water.

The only reason I came here was that it was close to jamia milia. The hotel was expensive for one night, 6-7k, and there was no point staying there. The bathroom was dirty, there was no WiFi, and room service wasn’t working. The staff were a total nightmare and scolded us for ordering from blinkit and zomato, even though their own food was lousy and overpriced. We asked for unsweetened tea and it came with sugar. Worst hotel I’ve ever been to.

We waited at least two hours for our room, and by the time they gave it to us, checkout was already near. The rooms were dirty and not good. Management was very poor, and the property manager was rude and didn’t seem to care about guests. They even told us, “aap khud dekh lijiye.” A horrible experience, not recommended.

The only good thing about this particular hotel was the location. Saltstayz gets talked up, but to me it’s only a small step up from oyo. There are loads of rules, the service and amenities aren’t good, and the materials they use are very poor quality.
