Staybook Hotel Nitya Maharani

The hotel is on a very narrow road, but inside it has a nice lobby and a clean, calm atmosphere. The rooms are small, with queen beds. There are lots of food places along the main road within walking distance, and the staff are polite. I didn’t try the food, though the tea they served was good, so it seems the food might be good too.

The place itself is good, but it isn’t maintained. There’s dust everywhere and the rooms aren’t cleaned properly. We stayed for two days and struggled to get water, room cleaning, and warm water for bathing. The person in the black beard who acts as night manager was extremely rude and doesn’t have basic manners when speaking to customers. The person managing during the day until 10pm was quite nice. The owner seriously needs to look into the staff’s etiquette and room service.

The worst part of our stay came at checkout: they took our phones for an OTP, then accessed them without permission and posted a five-star rating themselves. That’s completely unethical. The hotel itself was disappointing too. The dining area smelled strongly, our room was in poor shape and smelled bad, and the promised hot water never came. Calling it “Super Deluxe” set expectations the place didn’t meet.

The place smelled bad, and the mats, blankets, and walls were filthy. The rooms were pathetic, and they had neither an extra pillow nor an extra blanket when we asked. They didn’t even provide one complimentary bottle of water. We paid 5500 for a day, and I wouldn’t stay there again even for free. Don’t trust the reviews, I think they’re paid. Make my trip won’t let me post a review on its system, which makes me wonder if there’s some tie-up to cheat people. Avoid this ugly property.
