The Royal Nest

The staff and owner were caring and very sweet, and the hotel had a homely feel. I had a really good time. The rooms were clean and hygienic, and the food was tasty and healthy.

I needed a bed and breakfast in North Delhi for some friends visiting from abroad, since I couldn't host them at home. My budget was tight, but manager Vinayak and his wife offered me a wonderful deal, and the place suited us exactly. My friends felt safe and had a wonderful stay, saying it was like living with an Indian family. They were even invited to a family lunch and dinner. Thanks to Vinayak and family for hosting us so nicely.

We were constantly shifted to other rooms, around seven or eight times in a month, sometimes to places without proper facilities whenever the owner's guests came. The owner is cunning and seems focused on taking people's money. They demanded an advance, then kept bothering us. Drinking water was inadequate, and after four or five days we were told to buy our own. The AC was old and broke down three times in a month. They wouldn't let us use it for the first 15 days, saying it needed urgent maintenance and might explode, but still argued that we owed the full monthly AC charge of 5000 for one unit. I initially took dinner from the owner. The first two or three nights the food was decent, then it was just poor-quality rice and pulses, sometimes uncooked. They'd promised the same food they ate, but later served us what they gave their servants. I also spoke with other people who stayed overnight. They all complained, and the owner's wife argued with them over small things like the lack of drinking water. The owners acted as if they were doing us a favor. I found the place and the people running it awful, greedy, and disruptive. I also believe the positive reviews here are fake and written by the owner using different accounts. This is the worst place I've ever stayed. Find somewhere nearby. I would have given zero stars if that were possible.

This isn't really a hotel, it's a poor service apartment. Don't pay in advance before seeing the room, and if it doesn't meet your expectations, leave rather than staying out of politeness. Mr Chadha may communicate persuasively, but I found him dishonest. I couldn't find any positives. The room couldn't be locked and was untidy, drinking water was scarce, and there was no parking on the busy residential lane. There was no ventilation or working AC. Meals weren't made to order, they served what was cooked for the servants, and there were no second helpings. Avoid it.
