Quality Inn Rockwell Grand, Bangalore

I booked this place mainly because of its location, as I had a flight the next day. The rooms weren't well maintained, and the bathroom floor was so slippery it felt as if someone had poured out a whole shampoo bottle. For three people in a room, we asked for an extra mattress, but the manager said it couldn't be provided and suggested we share the king-size bed, which was cramped for our group. His reasoning made no sense and came across as disrespectful. He was very unprofessional, and the website booking process was poorly designed. There was just one glass, one cup, and one towel, as if we were expected to share everything.

I'm a specialist doctor from Sri Lanka. Ten of us stayed at this hotel from 29 th of January to 1st February for a conference, and checked out at 5 pm on 1st February. In the rush, I left behind a branded dress worth about INR 5000 that I'd worn to the conference. A friend who shared my room had seen it in the wardrobe about an hour before checkout. When I remembered it while unpacking on the second day after returning to Sri Lanka, I phoned the hotel straight away. They promptly said it wasn't there. I made several inquiries, including two calls with the manager. He was very rude on the second call, and everyone kept saying they hadn't found anything. It seems the management doesn't take responsibility for its workers. Another doctor in our group left her removed false teeth on the table, then couldn't find them when she returned to the room a few hours later. When asked, the hotel again said they hadn't seen them. Seven of the ten doctors developed severe diarrhea and vomiting. Some vomited in the conference hall, and some couldn't attend the conference. Other doctors at the same conference who stayed in different hotels didn't have diarrhea or vomiting, which points to the source not being conference food. Although we had a double room, we were given items such as towels and toothbrushes for only one person until we asked for more. I've traveled around the world and visited India more than ten times in recent years, but this was honestly one of the worst experiences I've had.

The room was clean, comfortable, and good, and I really liked the restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service there was pleasant and attentive. Check-in was a different story. I waited at the front desk for more than 30 minutes without a proper response. Mr. Nasir in the front office seemed careless and showed little courtesy. He stayed seated and didn't answer basic questions. I waited patiently instead of escalating it because I didn't want to spoil my mood, but the lack of basic hospitality was frustrating. The stay had some good parts, though the front desk needs to improve its response and courtesy toward guests.

For a single night near the airport, this was a good stay. Check-in and checkout were quick, and room and restaurant service were good. The hotel is comfortable and well maintained, with spacious rooms for one or two people, clean rooms, and well-kept toilets and bathrooms. The rooftop restaurant cum bar was a more comfortable option for couples or groups to enjoy.
