Rahgir Hostel

The view from Rahgir is stunning, and the place has that Himachal feel. It’s close to the main attractions, and owner Vishal bhai makes you feel at home and suggests an itinerary that fits what you ask for. We got our money’s worth and I’d highly recommend staying here.

Vishal bhaiya really cares about the people staying here, and I’m grateful for his kindness. The friendly atmosphere felt like home, and the service was great. I had a wonderful stay at this hostel and would recommend it for a comfortable, memorable visit.

The location gets a 2 from me, but there were no views and the rooms get 0. In Dharamkot, rooms were damp, paint was peeling, and there was black fungus in some places. They didn’t look like the photos. There was nobody to make tea or coffee in the morning. One guy said tea could be provided, then refused the next morning, saying they had no milk. Customer service was zero. For 1000 bucks, you can get a decent hostel or hotel in Dharamkot or McLeod.

Terrible experience. The rooms were dirty, the washrooms couldn’t be used, and there was a cigarette burn on the bedsheet. The views and location were awful, and the staff were uncooperative and inconsiderate.
