OYO 28439 Skylark Hotel

The food was way too expensive, and you can’t bring food from outside. Don’t count on getting anything through Zomato. The rooms are decent only if you choose a Premium one, but even then the washroom isn’t good.

They showed me one room and then gave me a different, dirty one, and they even broke their commitments. There were no towels or sanitary supplies, and nobody was around to look after guests. This is a very unwelcoming place to stay. I’d advise people not to stay there.

We spent two days in Diamond Harbour for a leisure trip and stayed at oyo skylark. I still don’t know whether to call it a hotel, guest house, lodge, or something else. It was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The hotel is unsafe, filthy, and unliveable. Think a thousand times before booking, especially if you’re traveling with a female partner. Google won’t let us rate it below one, though our experience was zero out of five. There was no water in the washroom, so we couldn’t bathe for either of our two days there. The fittings were broken and so dirty that people shouldn’t have to use them. A small mountain of used condoms was piled at the washroom window, and torn condom packets were scattered around the room. Even at the front door by reception, we saw torn condom packets when we arrived. The so-called suite had wooden flooring that had become a home for pests and crawling insects. There were no lights in the room, no curtains on the windows, and every door, including the washroom door, had at least two or three holes. The shared spaces weren’t any better, with empty liquor bottles and filth everywhere. Don’t even look at the sofas, they were pest-infested. The terrace garden they claim to have is just a low-grade liquor bar with impolite locals, and the swimming pool wasn’t working. Locals in the area also confirmed that the hotel has issues with licenses and permissions. Food was heavily priced. They say they have an in-house kitchen, but serve guests food from the DEBUR HINDU HOTEL across the road. The place also says it has a terrace garden and swimming pool, but that was what I found instead. Most of the Google reviews appear to have been written by hotel staff. One called it an “international quality lodge.” The so-called Mr Halder is a hotel staff member, and came to take our food order on the second day of our stay.

They refused to let us stay because OYO hadn’t paid them for a while. This isn’t the first hotel I’ve come across with that problem. OYO, you need to step up your game, seriously. You’re going downhill fast.
