Hotel Coral Digha

We had a confirmed Agoda reservation at Hotel Coral, Digha, paid in full the day before, with booking ID 1976088*. On 24 January, before arriving, we tried several times to call the hotel to confirm details, but all listed numbers were switched off. We went ahead anyway, trusting the platform. We reached at 6:17 PM, tired and carrying luggage, with a female companion. Staff denied the booking without properly checking records, explaining, or apologizing, even after we showed proof of payment and confirmation. Being left outside in the evening after paying in full felt humiliating and helpless, and staff showed no courtesy or empathy. Agoda customer care was also slow and difficult to coordinate with, with no urgency or seriousness. The number in the Agoda app appeared fake and sent me to a suspicious link that seemed fraudulent, leaving us feeling unsafe as well as abandoned. Seeing my companion anxious and distressed was heartbreaking. This was more than a bad stay: Hotel Coral and Agoda both failed us, and our trust in confirmed bookings and platform support was broken. I strongly advise travelers to avoid the hotel and be very cautious with platforms that don't provide real help in a crisis. No trip, discount, or booking is worth that stress, disrespect, and emotional trauma.

The front desk person was very rude. They gave us the room an hour late, then wanted us to check out early. This was the view from our balcony. I'd also recommend paying online: with direct offline payment, they may add an extra charge called development fees. I don't want to pay development fees when I don't know what they're being used to develop.

I booked four rooms in December for January 24 and paid Rs 10,000 in advance. At the hotel, they said no room had been booked under my number, even though I showed my booking ID and an Oyo receipt listing Coral and a room number. After I threatened to go to the police station, a reception staff member gave me a mobile number to call. I learned the broker had booked us into a cheaper hotel. With the police's help, I got a full refund. I was defrauded at Hotel Coral, and this kind of fraud is going on at the hotel in Digha.

Very good hotel and really nice service. The drink was 🍻, and the waiter service and housekeeping were very good. Tiwari ji, you're a very good boy, Tiwari handled it all alone.
