The hotel is on the second floor and has views of the road and beach. It's for families and couples only, not single visitors, according to the government direction.
OYO support kept putting us on hold and disconnecting our calls, then eventually offered to look for another option. Meanwhile, the front desk person couldn't speak to or serve us with basic courtesy. We'd booked through OYO and paid in advance, but he still asked us to pay for lodging. He also refused to give us the room we had booked and offered a non-AC room at a higher rate instead. Later he kept trying to persuade us to take a honeymoon suite. My husband and I had arrived just the day before, and this was already a pathetic experience. If you run a website, you need to maintain the service and follow proper procedures too. A profit-making approach like this won't take you far. Thanks.
The room I'm in is okay enough, and the location is good. But the staircases and terrace rooms are dirty and unappealing, and the rooms aren't that great. When I reached Digha, I found out singles aren't allowed, supposedly because of the possibility of suicides. Seriously, can't one person enjoy their own company? I went to the police station, and a half-friendly, half-strange officer sent me to a hotel he knew that would let me stay. It's doable.
The balcony view is the best part, and the sea-facing rooms are very good. But the price is high for such poor service and weak management. I spent a whole day without electricity or water.
