Sandhya Guest House Digha

A kind, homely place with a lot of heart. Shandhya guest house is close to the river and in a prime spot, with everything nearby.

I stayed from 13.03.2025 to 16.03.2025, and this was the filthiest hotel I've ever experienced in my 32 years, after staying in places from one to four stars. They charge Rs 1120 including GST for a small non-AC room with a king size bed, room no. 324, which should cost Rs 300. They demanded full payment before check-in. You can't go out after 10.30 pm, and if you're already out, they'll call and harass you to return. The receptionist and the owner, who sits in front of reception like he owns a five-star hotel, were very rude. I'd never stay there again, even if it meant sleeping on the footpaths of new digha.

We were six people and stayed three days. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean, and the price was very low. The manager and other staff were polite and behaved well. Security is tight, with cameras. The hotel is in a good spot, about 1.1 km or a 15-minute walk from Digha Railway Station, and 1.5 km or a 15-20-minute walk from the beach. The vegetable market is around a 10-minute walk away. We'd happily stay again when we go to Digha. Recommended for couples and families.

Basic amenities were missing, and whenever we asked for something, they flatly refused. The staff were rude and uncooperative. A terrible place to stay. Avoid it if you don't want your vacation spoiled.
