Awoo Resort

We'd paid in full for our Agoda booking, but when we arrived the property was closed and nobody was at reception. A servant showed up and called the manager, who wasn't even in the city. We called her several times, but she didn't pick up. Eventually she called back and said they had no cook because his mother had died. Since there were no other guests there, she suggested another property she owned. We agreed, but when we got there it turned out to belong to someone else, who wanted us to pay. We said Awoo should cover it because they'd sent us there. The woman from Awoo then said she hadn't received any money, hadn't listed her property on Agoda, and didn't want to cancel the booking. We were exhausted and didn't want another argument. After a 40-minute call with Agoda customer care, the booking was cancelled. During the call, she even offered us a stay at Awoo again, saying the only issue was that there was no cook. She had never had the booking, received the money, or listed it, yet still seemed reluctant to let it be cancelled. It's people like this who can make an experience so awful that you want everyone to know, so nobody else has to go through it.

Avijit and the whole team were ready to help whenever we needed something. When I asked to change rooms, they had it done in five minutes. The staff were cooperative, the service was good, and the food was nice. I was very happy staying here, and would definitely recommend it as the best resort in Dirang.

I stayed at Awoo Resort in December 2024 and loved the peaceful mountain setting, away from the bustle of town. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. In the freezing cold, they thoughtfully gave me an electric blanket, so I slept well. The Chinese food was especially delicious. I did find it inconvenient that the rooms had no intercom, since I sometimes needed reception or room service. It was a minor issue, and the lovely surroundings and service made up for it. I'd consider coming back on my next trip to Dirang.

Avijit was helpful in every way, and the housekeeping staff stayed attentive and brought things whenever we needed them. The cook made us delicious food, too. It's a very nice resort with tasty meals, and I'd definitely recommend it.
