We went to Maachan Resort for what we hoped would be a quiet three-night break, booked for 25th May to 27th May. The location and weather seemed good at first, but the stay became very upsetting because of concerns about food safety, hygiene, and the way staff handled things. After eating Paneer Fried Rice and Manchow Soup on our first night, my husband became very sick the next morning, with severe stomach upset and repeated vomiting. It seemed like food poisoning. He couldn’t drive, so we called reception for help or a driver. They said they’d check and get back to us, but nobody followed up. We ended up arranging an ambulance ourselves and making the roughly 40-minute trip to Sri Krishna Hospital in Bankal for treatment. We checked out early the following day. The staff didn’t show concern, and still charged us for all three nights even though we had stayed only one. They wouldn’t make any adjustment, despite our belief that the problem came from food served at the resort. The manager also wouldn’t discuss or address our concerns. That night, we hired a driver to take us back to Bangalore. When we asked for somewhere for him to stay, we were told the only option was the staff room. It was in very bad condition and had bed bugs, so he had to sleep in the car. The resort is far from medical facilities, emergency help was inadequate, and the hygiene standards seemed questionable. The poor food, lack of support in an emergency, unclean facilities, and indifferent staff made an already difficult situation worse. I’d urge caution, especially for anyone traveling with elderly people or children. Bring essential medicines and be ready for an emergency. It was a very bad experience, and we wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We had a lot of fun here on a trip with our office team. The staff were awesome, and the property was well maintained, with clean, spacious rooms. The food was good too, and we enjoyed the pool. It’s a place to disappear for a couple of days without planning much. The drive was comfortable, and it’s about five hours from Bangalore. A very relaxing getaway, with great hospitality.

We really enjoyed our stay at Machan Plantation Resort. It had a calm atmosphere, lovely green views, and warm hospitality, with delicious food and a comfortable place to stay. A refreshing nature break and a great choice for a family vacation 😊

The bird-watching was unforgettable, and the peaceful setting made our time there even more special. Sakleshpur is a beautiful location, and the real place was even better than the pictures. The food was amazing, service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly polite. Highly recommended if you want to relax in nature.

The rooms at Machaan Plantation were clean and well kept, and we liked the garden view, but the stay felt short of what the price should offer. Privacy was the main problem. The layout feels like shared sitting space beside other rooms, which takes away from the comfort and sense of privacy. Better separation between rooms, and maybe a private balcony at the back, would help a lot. The food was decent, but expensive for what we got. Chicken curry was 550, while even four-star resorts charge 380 rupees, and fish was over 800. With the room tariff and dining costs together, the value could be better. They should also provide a smart TV instead of DTH. I’m sharing this as feedback because the property has potential, and pricing, privacy, and the food experience could all be improved.
