Daan Residency

For the low price, the room was basic, and the staff gave us plates and cutlery when we ordered food from outside. There’s no restaurant on-site. The sticky floor felt like detergent had been spilled and left to dry, and staff said they couldn't do anything because they didn't have mops. There’s a gym directly above the rooms, so we kept hearing loud thuds whenever someone dropped weights on the floor. It happened quite often during our one-night stay.

We stayed one night for a function at Baskareeyam conventional hall, about a KM from the hotel. The room was cozy, though the bathroom was small, and it had a geyser. AC cooling was a little weak. The hotel is on the second floor of a commercial building and has no restaurant attached. They stick firmly to the 11 AM checkout time, even if you book directly, and won’t allow a 24-hour check-in/check-out. We loved the clean, peaceful rooms and toilet, and there’s an escalator too. The location connects well to the city’s main spots. We chose this hotel in cochin through whatsapp for a one-day stay, and their customer service was excellent. The privacy and comfort came as a good package. We’ll book again if we have another function in cochin.

The only drawback for us was the location: it’s a bit far from the metro and train stations, with no restaurants nearby. Still, the quiet surroundings felt safe, and the commercial building itself wasn’t busy. If you don’t mind being a little away from the main area, it’s a great place to stay. We spent a night at Daan residency in November. The hotel was very clean and well maintained, with large, comfortable rooms, plenty of space, cozy big beds, and a spotless bathroom. Of all the places we stayed in kerala, this may have been the best value for money. It was peaceful, a nice place to relax and end our trip.
