Hotel Crown Suites

The convenient location was the main positive. I stayed for a day at Hotel Crown Suites in Panampilly Nagar, Kochi, but the reception staff were unprofessional and didn’t seem equipped to deal with guests. The experience was poor overall, and I’d give it 2 out of 10. I wouldn’t recommend it for a business trip or a family function. The service needs major improvement, so I’d look at other options.

We’re from Bangalore and have stayed in many star-rated hotels in Kerala, but this was a really poor experience. We booked a suite at 7:30pm, and nobody mentioned checkout time. At the room, we couldn’t find even a water bottle, dental kit, kettle, or mini-kitchen facilities, which we’d expected in a suite. The bath towel on the bed was badly damaged, like something already heavily used. There was no water in the room, so we asked for three bottles and the room boy brought them. The next morning, reception said checkout was at 11am and they wouldn’t allow even a minute extra unless we paid to extend for another day. When we checked out, they charged us for all three bottles. I asked why at least one wasn’t complimentary, and they replied that one bottle was complimentary but they had charged for the whole lot, adding that next time they’d give us a free one. Pathetic service. The room boy was indifferent, and the bathroom needs maintenance. An average hotel in Cochin would offer better facilities and service. We’ll never recommend this place.

The location, rooms, and atmosphere were okay, but the AC was awful. Make sure to check about the amenities before checking in.

The only upside was the location. My room was dirty, the reception staff didn’t seem to care, and there was no running water from the tap in the morning. I’ve never had an experience like it. Pathetic.
