OYO 15574 Caprice Residency, South

The room was clean, but the advertised geyser or hot water wasn’t there. There was no cable for the TV, and the WiFi didn’t work. Three remote controls came with only two batteries, so I had to keep swapping them to operate the TV and AC. There were no towels or soap in the bathroom, so bring your own if you book.

The room smelled strongly of cigarettes when I checked in, and there were lots of cockroaches in the bathroom. The bucket and mug were very dirty. The fan didn’t work, and when I asked about it, they said the AC was working, but it was fixed at one temperature and didn’t cool. There was a TV that was just for show. They charged 1,500 for two beds within four walls.

This is an apartment in a residential area, not really a hotel, and there’s no restaurant. I booked a four-bed suite with breakfast but got two single beds pushed together in an AC room, plus a sofa in the non-AC hall that staff said could be used as a double bed. They supplied a microwave and kettle but no tea. Breakfast was even poorer than at a hotel. Somehow they gave me bread, jam, and tea, and the GM and MD post people also provided tea powder, sugar, and milk powder so I could make tea.

The room didn’t match the photos from the booking. When I asked, the staff said they put all kinds of photos on the profile and the room might be different. We had to call for towels, and they don’t provide dental kits, which seems basic. Hot water is only available from 10 to 4, which is an odd time. One day we asked for tea and were told they had run out of milk. They also gave no checkout information, then were very focused on making sure we left on time. They didn’t even provide complimentary drinking water. What they advertise and what guests get are a big lie and cheating. The problems started at check-in. We had booked through Oyo with payment due there, but staff said they didn’t accept Oyo bookings and would cancel ours if we paid. Why list the property on Oyo if they won’t honor bookings made there? It feels like they’re just using Oyo for publicity.
