Sidra Pristine Hotel & Portico Halls

I booked at the last minute and got a reasonable rate, with the pool as a nice extra for a budget stay. The hotel feels run down and needs real housekeeping and maintenance work. Cleanliness was below average, especially in the toilet; the furniture and wallpaper were ripped, there were no blackout curtains, and the AC was only average. I'd consider it only if keeping costs down is the main goal and you're willing to give up some comfort and cleanliness. I wouldn't return unless those problems are fixed.

The room was poorly kept, the receptionist was rude and unprofessional, and the bathroom smelled foul. When we asked for room service, someone sprayed in a lot of room fragrance, which only made the smell worse. The pool was a joke, and we weren't even allowed to sit in the outdoor area on the 5th floor. Very bad experience and absolutely not worth the money. There are plenty of hotels in kochi, so I'd skip this one.

The service was very slow, and the hotel should provide RO water for making tea. Instead, they expected us to buy Bisleri bottles for it, which my husband and I didn't accept. He went to the restaurant and brought back RO water in our empty bottles. If a room has tea and coffee sachets, guests should have enough water to make them. The basement had plenty of parking, but the approach to the hotel wasn't very good. We stayed for three days in December 2025. Staff were polite and good, especially Mr Menon at reception, who was humble and understanding, and the restaurant staff, including the boys and one woman, behaved well. Breakfast was included in the room tariff as a buffet. The choices were limited, but the food was good and we enjoyed the Keralite cuisine. Our room on the 3rd floor was very clean, and the toilet was spotless. They changed the linen, towels, and toiletries every day without fail.

The advertised pool was tiny, more like a water tank, and had broken tiles. The rooftop/common area in the promotional photos also seemed like somewhere guests could sit together, but after our group of 12, including an infant, had booked 5 rooms and gathered there, staff told us it wasn't allowed. There was no proper common space offered as an alternative, which was inconvenient. One bathroom smelled strongly. When we asked for it to be cleaned, staff first sprayed a very strong perfume without warning us, making the room suffocating with a baby there. They only came back to clean after we asked why it hadn't been done properly. That was handled badly. Reception staff kept turning down our requests with a smile, but didn't offer practical solutions. Politeness is good, but concerns need to be resolved. The stay didn't meet expectations, and I wouldn't recommend the hotel.
