Capital O 89403 Hotel Twins Peak

A blanket and hot water in chilly December in Gangtok should be a basic request. I put up with the rest, but that was the point where they lost my respect. The view, hygiene, and food were all awful, and the staff and manager seemed determined to spoil the trip. The manager has no basic manners or human decency. Pathetic. I'm furious enough to want to swear at them.

The hotel is tucked away on a narrow street and can't be seen from the road. It's only about two minutes from Gangtok's main market, though, and its central location makes it easy to travel around. This is a budget-friendly place with comfortable rooms and great room service, but there's no view. Dinner is available if you let them know ahead of time. I noticed many of the guests were government employees.

The rooms are fine, but the staff also have a laid-back attitude, and the manager, Akash neopany, doesn't care about customer satisfaction. He acts as if guests stop mattering once they've paid. During my stay, five families were there and none were happy with him. His horrendous attitude was so off-putting that people didn't want to confront him. I've travelled a lot and never met someone so hostile and dismissive of customers. He doesn't seem to care that his behavior damages both the hotel's reputation and the image of Sikkim and its people. We believe in atiithi Devo Bhava, but this guy seems to believe in "atiithi Ko bhaga." Google doesn't allow negative stars, or I'd have given them. Don't spend your hard-earned money here.

We booked the entire hotel for our group of 56 for three nights and three days, from 9th Sept till 11th Sept 2018. Mr Akash Neopany, the Manager, sorted out our food, stay, and transportation, including two days of local sightseeing and a trip to Nathula on the third day. The owner, Mr Akash, lives at the hotel with his family, which made it feel safe for women travelling in a group and for solo travellers. It's a little tucked away, but once inside, you forget the outside world. The hotel has a lovely look, the hospitality was good, and the food menu changes every day. It's a fantastic property, about 200 meters from Mall Road, also called M G Marg, opposite Denzong Cinema. Good food and good people!
