Ginger Gangtok

The bartender Himal was exceptional, and we enjoyed the food and the staff. Ginger Gangtok sits a little away from the main bazaar, which was nice. The local-themed design and spacious rooms make it the most Ginger Hotel I've seen in India, if I'm not mistaken. We had a good experience. Sikkim is such a clean place and a wonderful tourist destination, with helpful, happy people who are always smiling. 😊

The dining area is clean and well maintained, and the food is good and hygienic. Service was satisfactory, though having more menu choices would help. Ms. Namita and Mr. Himal were courteous and hardworking, and helped create a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were polite and good overall, but new recruits need better training in all areas, especially at the desk.

The balcony has a calm, lovely view across the whole city of Gangtok. The room felt spacious and luxurious, the Wi-Fi worked really well, and there was a large LG Android TV, I think 40 to 50 inches. The hotel is clean and looks aesthetic, with sweet, hospitable staff. The bathroom was clean and had hot tap water at night and in the morning when needed. The food felt a bit heavy for me, though taste varies by person. The usual paneer dishes and chicken curry were available. Thank you.

The beds were comfortable, the hotel looked nice, and the food was good. The service let us down. Nobody offered to help with our luggage, either on arrival or when we left, and reception refused to help us book a taxi even though we're not local. Our toilet didn't work, and it took four requests and two days before anyone did anything. The mini fridge was broken too, with no action taken. Shower hot water was unreliable. On our first night, we were wrongly told dinner was included, so we spent money unnecessarily. The front desk team needs customer service retraining.
