Hotel Palbheu

We stayed on the ground floor, and getting there meant leaving the dining and reception area, walking out to the road, then taking stairs to the room. After dinner in cold, rainy weather, with drainage water flooding the road, that was miserable. The location is poor in the rain, even though it's near MG market. Thin blankets and badly fitting windows let cold air in at night. The old man at reception was extremely rude and inhuman. He wouldn't allow outside food and made us order from the hotel restaurant, then insisted we sit in the dining area to eat, however tired we were. There was no water in the room either, so we had to take our own jar to the dining area and fill it ourselves. He demanded full payment before check-in. If we ordered even a 50 rs coffee, he wanted immediate payment, and he prepared the bill incorrectly with extra charges, so check it against the menu before paying. I'm Bengali and expected a Bengali host to treat us well, but I was completely wrong. The rooms were in very bad condition and the service was awful. I wouldn't book here at all. One star is generous, and I wish I could give a negative rating. I visited with my family on 15th May 2025. The old man at reception is Bengali, and I found his behavior money-minded and lacking humanity.

I regret booking this place. It spoiled my trip, and the owner's behavior was so unprofessional I even thought about filing a complaint. The owner was extremely rude and told us to fill the water jug ourselves, though providing water was their duty. He also insisted on full payment at check-in. I strongly advise against paying the whole amount upfront, because he may ignore you afterward and act rudely. Consider staying somewhere better.

The only good part was being close to MG Market. We visited in the last week of December and weren't given a proper blanket, just a very light one like people use in summer. The old man at reception was money-minded, misbehaved with us, and lacked humanity. He would push you to eat at his restaurant, and if you didn't, he'd knock on your door and pressure you to order. He should be removed from the hotel for treating guests this way. Please don't book here if you're travelling with your wife or older people.
