A great option for a journey on a budget - hotel "Hotel Sri Mangalam Residency" is located in Gangtok. This hotel is located in the very center of the city. In the morning, have a cup of coffee while looking at the city from the window.

Some rooms have a lovely mountain view, but the rooms themselves aren’t very good. There are a lot of shortcomings: no restaurant or TV, nowhere to sit in the room, a bathroom geyser that doesn’t work, and no room service. The hotel is in a very good spot on MG Marg, though getting in and out means tackling a lot of stairs, which is difficult.
I had a good experience when I stayed here in 2022. Now it’s 2025, and I’m thinking about another trip to gangtok. I was hoping to return to the same hotel, but unfortunately I’ve lost their number.
There are rooms with a nice view, and the hotel is very nice and close to MG Marg. You do have to climb up and down a little. The guy from bihar was really cordial.
The service was pathetic, and OYO didn’t support me. In Sikkim and darjeeling, I wouldn’t choose OYO. Most hotels in darjeeling and gangtok don’t give check-in to OYO bookings.
The staff were the rudest I’ve ever faced in gangtok. They’re not customer-friendly at all.
