The Apartment

We had a nice time here with family, cooking and enjoying the stay. The rooms were large, clean and captivating, just as they appeared in the pictures. The location was nice, and the fully functional kitchen had everything needed for cooking. The caretaker was lovely and helped make the stay memorable.

The room cancellation disrupted our family vacation badly. On arrival, the host canceled one of our two confirmed rooms after getting another booking at a higher rate, so our family had to split up and use another hotel for one room. We had booked the rooms under separate booking IDs and confirmed everything with the host on November 3. At the host's request, I sent a screenshot and paid ₹1,000 as a confirmation deposit. The host blamed me, saying they emailed about the cancellation on December 27 and got no reply. During our conversation, they even tried to record my voice to make it look like my fault. I have screenshots confirming the booking. We stayed from December 27 to 30, 2024. The actual stay was poor too. The bed linens and comforters were filthy, and I developed rashes on the second day. They refused when I asked for a clean comforter. The rooms were spacious and had a kitchen, but those positives don't make up for the hygiene, professionalism and customer care problems. The facilities weren't worth the price. A business shouldn't disrupt a family's vacation for a few extra bucks. Photos can be deceiving, and I strongly recommend choosing a proper hotel with reliable facilities if you visit Gangtok. Avoid this place if you want a peaceful family vacation.

We stayed in Gangtok for a week in the end, partly because we liked it here so much. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, the kitchen was well furnished, and the staff were very friendly. All the basic facilities were there. It was a 10/10 stay.

The kitchen and terrace were such a vibe, and the rooms looked great. The caretakers were kind, and the landlord was extremely helpful. When we were all affected by the heat wave for a day, Hissey urgently arranged fans for every room. That really showed the hospitality. This Apartment has set such a high bar for all Airbnbs that it's hard to imagine finding a better experience. Thank you so much. I'm hoping to visit Gangtok just to stay at your Airbnb!
