There are small treks nearby, and hot sulphur springs too. This place feels like paradise even though it's in the middle of nowhere. Mountains, trees, clouds and a cool, soothing breeze surround you. You can smell and live nature here, with silence broken by birds whistling and chirping.

There isn't much to do here, but the view is enough to pass the time. From the space outside the rooms, we got superb sunrises and sunsets, with wonderful views of Pandim and Narsim. The Gurung home stay in Borong is in the middle of nowhere, and getting there meant a steep ride over bumpy roads. The food was up to a good standard, and the family treated us very nicely. Mr Gurung showed us around his compound, including the cattle shed and vegetable plots. Worth visiting, and visiting again.

If you want to stay in Borong, I strongly suggest this homestay. We had a wonderful stay at gurung Polok Homestay, and everyone was lovely, especially sandip da, Bishnu Di, and Sachita Di. The food was so delicious, and the accommodation was more or less satisfactory. If the weather is clear, you can see the lovely snow covered mount nersing from your bedroom.

It was a great experience to relax here in nature's lap. The Borong Polok home stay guest houses are near the Ralong monastry, close to Ravangla in Sikkim. There are two monasteries there, one old and one new, set among low mountains, away from public places.

A great off bit place near ravangla, with a huge view of the snow capped range. Nature lovers must vist. Prefer to stay at Wild Flower Retreat.
