We stayed three days with family while in Gorakhpur for government work. It's near baba gorakh nath temple, and the owner and receptionist were good natured. The geyser, other services, and water supply were good. But the toilet and wash basin were cleaned only once during those three days, which I didn't like.
The rooms are expensive, there are lots of mosquitoes, and hygiene is lacking. It's not a peaceful area either, bhajan on a loudspeaker can be heard from early morning.
The room was decent but small, fine for a night or two. Service left me disappointed. They didn't listen when I asked to have the room cleaned, and they refused dinner, telling me to order online. After 10 pm they don't answer calls or do anything for you, so don't expect help from the team with anything after 9 pm.
If you're checking whether this guest house will meet your expectations, keep this in mind: they think one towel between two people in a room is okay. And if you love the dust of the earth, their blankets will make sure you don't miss it.
It's average. The water heater was good, and maintenance was okay. There is no lift, just stairs. Clean enough that I wouldn't run away, but not clean enough for four stars.
